There’s no denying that cooking is a bit of a polarizing issue: you either love it or hate it.
For us, cooking is a passion that has always been deeply rooted in so many aspects of our lives that we couldn’t imagine giving it up. Can it be a lot of work? Absolutely. Does it always come out perfect? Of course not. But our love of experimenting with food and the rewards that come from pulling off a deliciously-executed meal are what always keep us coming back to the kitchen for more.
These are some of our favourite cooking quotes from great minds who said it best:
“Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all.”
– Harriet Van Horne
“We all eat, and it would be a sad waste of opportunity to eat badly.”
– Anna Thomas
“The only time to eat diet food is while you’re waiting for the steak to cook.”
– Julia Child
“There is no sincerer love than the love of food.”
– George Bernard Shaw
“It was a bold man that first ate an oyster.”
– Jonathan Swift
“I cook with wine. Sometimes I even add it to the food.”
– W.C. Fields
“The only thing that will make a souffle fall is if it knows you’re afraid of it.”
– James Beard
“The idea is to make the ingredients sing, not a grand opera, but a jolly chanson.”
– Marie-Pierre Moine
“Taste is the most unexplored sense.”
– Matteo Ferrara
“The only real stumbling block is fear of failure. In cooking, you’ve got to have a what-the-hell attitude.” – Julia Child
