Meet the Maker: Fine Chocolate by Ludwig
Mrs. McGarrigle’s Fine Food proudly carries artisanal chocolate by Ludwig Ratzinger.
Ludwig was born in Bavaria, where he was raised in his family’s bakery/pastry business. In his early career, Ludwig apprenticed at Garmisch-Partenkirchen Business School, and then in a bakery in Landsberg. Ludwig moved to Canada in 1990 and soon found a position at the renowned Chateau Laurier, and then later with the Governor General. During this period, Ludwig taught cooking and baking.
Today, Ludwig pursues his long-time passion in confectionary making high-quality artisan chocolate. Based in Ontario, Ludwig focuses on high-quality, single origin cacao, cultivating excellence in chocolate.
Mrs. McGarrigle’s “Meet the Maker” series celebrates local food producers who care about making high-quality food products with locally and/or ethically sourced ingredients. We are proud to carry these products at Mrs. McGarrigle’s and to uplift our local food economy.
